Healed back piece by Severin: animal skull with vines in blackwork

Work

Fresh and healed

Blackwork, dotwork and linework from my studio in Winterthur. Every tattoo starts as a drawing of its own. Healed pieces are marked "Healed", so you can see how the lines sit in the skin once they have settled.

About me

I draw things that won't let you go

Hi, I'm Severin. A moth on a house wall, a mushroom in wet leaves, a branch that looks like it has fingers: I don't just walk past things like that. I take them onto paper and let them come a little more alive there.

On skin, all of it ends up in black. Fine lines, countless dots, solid fills. Some pieces are drawn calmly on paper first, others I draw freehand straight onto the skin, no stencil. That takes a fair bit of trust in me. And that's what I love most about this job: people come in with an idea and say "go for it".

Maybe you already have a picture in your head. Maybe one of my Wanna-Dos caught your eye. Or there's an old tattoo you'd rather not look at anymore. Tell me about it, even if it still sounds messy. We'll figure out the rest together, in my studio in Winterthur.
